Hi Neil,
My first memory is of having an interview with Jackie. She was dressed up ready to go to work even though she was pregnant and I remember being awe struck by this business woman who had a set plan for when her baby was born. I was lucky enough to get the job and care for Nic when he came home. What Jackie once told me is that she had not banked on falling so in love with her baby that she really did not want to go to work.
Those were special months being in your home, and feeling like I had become a part of the Holloway Family. Christmas held all sorts of amazing fun and the show that everyone had to partake in was so much fun.
Dressing up and going to the Ritz for tea, To the Army on Sunday's and to shows are all favourite memories.
I hope that these photo's can jog some memories.
The first photo memory was when you and Jackie came to visit me in South Africa. This was outside Mum's house in Henley on Klip,
I remember so fondly how happy I was that you and Jac had made the trip and the funniest things we did like go in a helicopter ride over Johannesburg and they got involved with a bank robbery. The Game park trip that we did and Jackie asking Bruce's friend how she could leave the gate open with her child playing in the garden which was within the game park. The lady said she trusted God would take care of him. He was about the same age as Nic at the time. Jackie was convinced she was negligent because what if God was looking after the lion on that particular day!
The Next photo was in London when we last visited I believe. We had a grand tour of the Olympic park and Sid took that photograph of us.
The other memory I would like to share and thank Jac for was when I had done renovations on my house and I had run out of money. She visited Cape Town and I was not in a good place and could not see my way out of the situation I was in. Jackie came in and took charge and got me moving again to get the house finished and really motivated me to look at different options around work. She was an angel sent to me at a time when I could not see the wood for the trees. Soon after that I moved to Bahrain and that is where Sid and I met and my life took on a whole new direction.
Sending so much love to you all.
Debs
